Angry mom shoots her kids' cell phone

A group of US teens have been given a lesson in tough love from their mum who blew up their phones with a shotgun.

"I hereby denounce the effects that social media have on my children, their disobedience and their disrespect," the woman shouts while brandishing a shotgun as her surly children watch on.

Identified only as "southern mother" the woman loudly proclaims her frustration with her children's fixation to social media, claiming it's contributed to their bad attitudes.

While her antics may have been extreme she might have been onto something as one of the children can be seen giving the middle finger to the camera.

The woman has the phones lined up on a tree stump despite roaring objection from her small audience.

"I… take back my role as parent to my children," she says as her kids continue to swear a nd yell at her. "I refuse to be cursed. I refuse to be disobeyed. I take back my role as your parent."

It only takes one shot to reduce the smart phones to rubble.
