STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Two individuals were caught on video Thursday tampering with blue ribbons put up around Staten Island to support the NYPD.
The first video, which shows an individual ripping down a blue ribbon tied to a tree, was taken from surveillance footage at a house in the vicinity of Susan Wagner High School in Sea View, the owner of the surveillance camera said.
The girlfriend of the individual whose footage captured the incident said she will put up a replacement ribbon.
"I put that ribbon up for my friends and family on the job. I worry for them," she said. "It really breaks my heart."
