A 29-year-old male refugee was shot dead by police at a refugee accommodation centre in Berlin's Moabit district, overnight into Wednesday, after he had allegedly charged at another refugee with a knife.
"The police were informed about an alleged sexual assault against a girl who lives in this refugee shelter. The suspect was identified and police arrested a Pakistani man who lives in this air-inflated tent-shelter. Police had already put handcuffs on the suspect who stood near a police vehicle surrounded by several police officers and was ready to be transported to a police department. At this moment the attacker came out from the building holding a knife with the intention to attack and hurt another man. Several colleagues were forced to fire at the attacker with a knife in order to prevent an attack."
