Alarming footage captured by students on a school bus in the far north shows a 14-year-old pushing a police officer to the ground and punching him repeatedly before his two friends join in.
The video captured on a cellphone at Taipa Area School shows a second police officer going to his colleague's aid with two other adults.
Officers used pepper spray on the school boys who were eventually arrested.
Police were called to the school after reports of a disruptive student armed with a sharp object.
Sources have told 1 News the incident unravelled after a student who was stood down returned to school and threatened Acting Principal David Lowe.
Students attacked Mr Lowe's car, smashing windows and panels and stabbing the tyres.
