It was announced roughly 2 weeks ago that 16-year-old singer Jackie Evancho will be performing the national anthem at Donald Trump's inauguration.
In the time since, her album 'Someday at Christmas' has reportedly skyrocketed to the #1 spot on Billboard's chart dedicated to classical music.
According to TMZ, "her weekly album sales quadrupled in digital downloads and in retailer as well."
Evancho gained many fans as a 2010 contestant on 'America's Got Talent,' ultimately finishing in the 2nd place.
Her upcoming inauguration performance was announced earlier this month on NBC's 'Today' show.
Said Evancho of the January 20 event, "I'm so excited. It's going to be awesome."
In a statement, Boris Epshteyn, the communication director of Trump's inaugural committee, said of the vocalist, "As the youngest solo artist to ever go platinum, she is a true role model and inspiration for people young and old in our country and around the globe. Jackie represents the best and the brightest of America."
