Man risks life to alert colleague as giant truck heads his way

A worker at a steel factory in northwest Shaanxi Province risked his own life to save his colleague from an imminent death heading its way.

Shocking surveillance footage shows the moment Yang Zhangjian frantically ran inside an office to alert Wang Tao that a truck carrying 30 tons of coal was approaching. Two seconds after the two evacuated the room, the lorry smashed into the office, bringing down a wall and causing the surveillance camera to lose signal. The accident took place at the entrance of a local steel company in the city of Hancheng on Thursday.

Sudden brake failure led to the conductor losing control over the heavy vehicle.

“I didn't think too much, the first thing I thought of is my colleague Wang Tao, who was working in the office. I rushed into the office and called him out” said Yang.
