A cute clip posted to Twitter shows a Tasmanian devil being freed from a sack, only to immediately scurry into a PVC pipe trap.
A man who tried to set the animal free is seen laughing as the curious marsupial takes a quick look at the trap, before hopping in and triggering the lock.
David Hamilton, a PhD candidate at the University of Tasmania who made the video, wrote: 'Devil trapping 101 - always try to minimise the probability of instantaneous recapture...'
