Driver on mobile phone runs over a child

A two-year-old boy survived being hit by a car in east China’s Fujian Province.

Surveillance video shows a car running over the child. The driver was talking on his phone and did not see the toddler.

The incident puts into sharp focus the dangers of using cell phones while behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.

According to the World Health Organization, a driver using a mobile device is four times more likely to get into an accident than drivers who are focused on the road.

Using mobile phones while driving is prohibited in China.
