A Sydney cyclist has narrowly avoided serious injuries after he was abruptly struck by a falling tree branch while out on a bike ride.
In the footage, uploaded to YouTube by Matthew Lucas, the man is seen riding in front of a group of cyclists before he is taken out by the falling branch.
The piece of foliage fell as he was riding along Avoca Street in Maroubra surrounded by vehicles and other riders.
The man escaped without any serious injuries.
