Conservative columnist, Andrew Bolt, gets attacked by masked Antifa terrorists in Australia

Conservative newspaper columnist and TV host Andrew Bolt has been sprayed with glitter and "sticky liquid" outside a restaurant in Melbourne's inner north.



Showing CCTV footage on his Sky News program, Bolt said he was at a restaurant in Lygon Street in Carlton for the launch of a book on US President Donald Trump by RMIT professor Steve Kates.



He said he was sprayed after a woman requested a selfie.



"Two masked protesters then jumped me, spraying me in the face and all over my suit with some sticky liquid with glitter and dye," he said.



"Bad luck for them, of course, because I don't do running and hiding."


He said he gave one man "a big bruise on the left side of his face and another bruise between his legs".



"For which I apologise, I guess, but I don't really fight nice if I'm pushed too far."



Bolt said the other man ran away, while a third man filmed the incident.



Victoria Police confirmed they were investigating.



"The two males, who were wearing hooded jumpers, have thrown what is believed to be glitter and shaving cream at the victim," a police spokesman said.



"A short scuffle has taken place before the offenders fled the scene."



Police said no-one was injured.
