WARNING DISTRESSING IMAGES Footage from a security camera captured the officer opening fire on a pair of Staffordshire terriers who approached him
Footage from a security camera captured at Jennifer LeMay's home in Minneapolis showed the officer stood in a garden before he opened fire on a pair of Staffordshire terriers who approached him.
He is then seen scaling a fence while leaving the scene.
The video was later posted to Ms LeMay's Facebook where she said the dogs were not fatally wounded.
According to reports, the officer attended the home to respond to an activated security alarm which was accidentally triggered when one of Ms LeMay's daughters arrived home early from a family holiday.
