The video, filmed in the United States in 1960, paints an unsettling picture of life in the nuclear age.
It shows a classroom of children, no older than 10, being given a lecture about biohazard masks by a government scientist.
He tells the class that the masks will protect them from "biological and chemical attack by purifying the air inhaled".
