Mugger beats up 81-year-old victim in her own hall and leaves her collapsed on the tiles

This is the sickening moment a thug repeatedly punches an 81-year-woman in the head and steals her handbag.

The balaclava-wearing yob rained blows on the pensioner in her apartment before fleeing, leaving her collapsed on the floor.

He followed the silver haired victim into her building in West Village, New York, before launching the attack in the hallway.

The thug, who was dressed all in black with his face hidden by the hood of his top, punched the woman five times to her face and neck.

He grabbed her bag and fled the same way he came in.The woman suffered bumps and bruises to her head and face but declined medical attention at the scene, police said.

Cops released CCTV footage from the building of the assault on Friday and are hunting the attacker, who was dressed in all black and was wearing gloves. No arrests have been made.

A pensioner suffering from Parkinson's disease was mugged in Liverpool after a cab driver refused to pick him up.

Kenneth Carson had more than £50 stolen from him by the group of youths, who initially offered to hail him a cab.

The 69-year-old, who struggles to get around, said the trio laughed as they ran away with his money.

He told the Liverpool Echo that one of the teenagers grabbed the cash while pretending to help him.

Merseyside Police are investigating the mugging, which happened in Everton on Saturday night.
