The harsh realities of nature are laid bare in stunning detail in this jaw-dropping clip of a bird-eating fish chasing its prey in a dramatic life-or-death battle for survival. An incredible sequence released by the BBC ahead of the hotly-anticipated Blue Planet II , which begins this weekend, shows giant trevaillies leaping from the water in search of food. The programme, narrated by Sir David Attenborough , will show how the fish are able to snare birds which dip down to drink. In a trailer for Sunday's opening episode, Sir David explains that fledglings learn to avoid the dangerous waters, meaning the predatory fish have to 'up their game'. Alongside an incredible chase scene, which shows a giant trevaillie leap from the sea in an attempt to catch its prey, Sir David says: "There is a fish here that amazingly has a brain capable of calculating the air speed, altitude and trajectory of a bird."
