Molten lava engulfs camera after it falls into volcano crevice - but it miraculously survives and records the entire thing

Phones and cameras are pretty resilient nowadays, but if yours was swallowed up by a volcano, you probably wouldn't expect it to survive.



Considering they contain lava, which burns at around 1,000c heat, it's fair to expect lost electrics to fry, burn and melt within a matter of seconds.



So when tour guide Erik Storm managed to lose his GoPro down a small crevice, he thought his footage had been lost forever.



But Mr Storm, who works for Kiluaea EcoGuides , a tour group based in the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, decided to see if he could salvage what was left of it.
