The terrifying power of a nuclear blast has been revealed after the release of 62 newly declassified and never-seen-before videos of atomic explosions.
The stunning colourised footage shows one nuclear blast from a 25 kiloton explosion carried out on May 21, 1958.
A huge white mushroom cloud billows above the massive blast in the footage, which has been released by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).
The atom bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945, and killed more than 70,000 people, was around 15 kilotons while North Korea's September blast has been estimated at a whopping 150 kilotons.
The stunning video shows just some of the 210 tests conducted by the US between 1945 and 1962.
