Video footage has captured the dramatic moment a police officer tries to stop robbers from leaving the scene of a jewellery store ram-raid.
Despite the brave officer's actions, the thieves managed to escape the crime scene.
The incident took place late on Friday night in Cape Hill, Birmingham, reports the Birmingham Mail .
In the video, the policeman can be seen striking the BMW with his baton in a bid to stop the vehicle before it drives off.
The same car then reverses back towards the shop moments later, where three men can be seen loading large bags of items into the vehicle.
