Officers in Connecticut subdued an armed, suicidal man who urged police to kill him.
Police responded Tuesday to reports of a man in possession of several large knives who was threatening people. Police found the man with a knife in each hand.
As the suspect approached Officers David Delgado and William Coppola and demanded they kill him, Delgado holstered his firearm and deployed his TASER, incapacitating the man.
Delgado and Coppola disarmed the suspect and took him into custody without further incident. The incident shows the significance of de-escalation training.
