An innocent man was repeatedly kicked, punched and stamped on by a gang of teenagers in a 'sickening' unprovoked attack.
The assailants stamped on the victim's head as he lay unconscious in a pool of blood unable to defend himself, even running off and returning three times to continue the barrage of kicks.
Detectives have launched an attempted murder inquiry after the brutal assault at the tram stop in Chadderton, Greater Manchester.
The 49-year-old was only saved when a brave tram driver, supported by his passengers, intervened.
CCTV revealed the horror of the attack that started at 9.36pm on March 8.
