What these "fanatical Jews" are chanting is the phrase "sabbath" but in Hebrew. They are doing this as they see the need to remind their fellow jews that it is the day of rest and that they should not be working on the sabbath. As a result of this they are not "fanatical" but just a group of individuals who are reminding them that what they are doing is against the jewish religion.

That's interesting to know, but for me you must be fanatical to do what they did to someone who obviously don't give a s*** about them and their religion. He as the right to work without being bothered. And yes, it's pretty much annoying.
