This is the horror moment a callous thug batters a policeman as he sits in his patrol car in a Dublin estate.
The horror incident happened at Cashel Avenue, Kimmage last week in the early hours of the morning, Dublin Live reports.
A garda received injuries to his face in the horror attack just moments after he attempted to stop a car.
A source said: "Gardai were on patrol in Cashel Avenue when they spotted a BMW acting suspiciously shortly before dawn.
"The gardai attempted to stop the car but it sped off. After a short pursuit the BMW came to a halt.
