A Muslim schoolgirl had her headscarf ripped off by a fellow pupil before she was punched and kicked in a fight, it is alleged.
Footage of the violence has been circulating and appears to show one girl grabbing the victim, punching her in the head and then kneeing her.
Screams can be heard in the video as others stand and watch while the incident is filmed at a tram stop in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
One person is even heard giggling amid the assault which happens in broad daylight.
The Muslim girl tries to defend herself before another pupil gets involved to help stop the violence, it is claimed.
It has also been claimed that the victim's glasses were ripped off.
