A woman was seen punching a police horse on New Year's Eve before the mounted officer grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the floor.
The shocking clip was filmed on a street in Adelaide, Australia, as diners in restaurants nearby watched on in disbelief.
It shows a woman in green throw a punch before the officer controlling the horse leaning forward to grab her by the hair.
She then goes on to throw her backwards to the ground, before other officers nearby surround her.
Other images show the woman laying face down on the pavement as officers twist her arms to detain her.
