Hunting brown bears is legal murdering people is not. Learn to think rationally and not just with your heart. Besides you ignorance (boars do not stay with the sow and cub) Cubs do not have a "Pa" they have a sperm donor that is all.

  • rational thinking?

it's only "legal" (the basis of your argument) because humans make the laws. natural law, a law much higher than human law, would have to disagree about the legality of killing innocent animals for sport. adding a little heart to "rationality" would do so many ignorant people a lot of good. so would having a greater understanding of the nature of life and the nature of the universe of consciousness of which we all our connected to.

  • Sad they had nothing else to eat

These guys must have been really in need of food to destroy a family of bears. Of course, the cub will suffer -with no elder to help him survive. But, obviously, these people were in bad need of food. Otherwise, there is absolutely NO REASON to kill any animal.

  • That's not hunting. That just cowards who enjoy killing things. Hunting is for food.

I would have loved it if the cowards had their guns jam. Or been caught unaware by a bear with the same intent. Those two fully deserve to have their throats ripped out and bleed to death. Because that's exactly what would happen if their natural abilities were put up against the bears natural abilities. Truly hope that some day when their walking down the street minding their own business some person with a gun decides to shoot them dead, just for the buzz of it.

old fart and his moron son show the world how brave they are with guns. I would like very much to be very far from u, with a gun, and give you a piece of hell fury back. In death you feel no more pain so I would be doing you both a huge favour. please dont thank me. I hate you.

Where is the "sport" in that?

  • Bleeding hearts

You know it is legal to hunt? The DNR limits each year the amount of bears that can be taken based on scientific research about population size. This has all been implemented by hunters. Only hunters have made it that these animals are even around today though conservation. Before anyone could go and kill as many animals at they wanted for whatever reasons they wanted to. It was hunters who enjoyed wildlife that made it so its against the law to destroy a population of animals for personal gain. And this was way before PETA and all these other nutso operations popped into existance. And why do people assume hunters don't eat the food they kill. It's a myth repeated over and over again "sport" hunting does not mean you don't eat what you kill. How is killing a cow over a chicken any different than killing a bear over buying food at the store. In free countries we can eat what we choose.

  • Where do we draw the line?

I was very saddened and dissapointed by this clip. But then it got me to thinking about the moral standpoints we humans have on other so called "sports" such as fishing for one. I certainly would never shoot a bear but I'd hook myself a nice big Salmon, so what's the diference? Is it because the bear is larger and closer to resembling mans best friend that it appears more cruel to hunt it than the fish? Is it because bears are more intelligent? If we stop hunting bears or birds or fish then why not think twice next time we want to set a mouse trap or swat a fly? Hmmm..I guess if we ate the mouse or the fly then that would make it ok? Goddamn! I'm doing my own head in!

  • Where do we draw the line?

P.S. I just watched the clip again. These guys are definately wankers though, goddamn trigger happy cowboys! Had to laugh when that guy starts talking about the "skill and ability you have to have when hunting these animals". They basically shot the bear from hiding, not too hard an effort when the bear isn't even aware it's being hunted by the way. If they were so skillfull why didn't they wait longer to see if there were other bears following, It's because they didn't want to miss that "nice 60 yard broadside shot". Then they kill the mother bear as she attacks...again more "skill"? Like 'bsdetectors' comment says "anyone can shoot something the size of a honda civic "

  • Kind of Ironic

It's not really funny, just ironic that it's the same left-wing crowd that is pro gun control and anti hunting that also believes a woman should have the choice of killing her child. I guess the little baby knows its life, too, is in danger? Like Americaneagle said, look up the facts. It's the hunters, who would lose the sport we love, if these animals were to be decimated. This isn't the old west where everyone runs around laying out animals. This is a heavily regulated sport that is pursued by the people who are most responsible for conserving our natural resources.

  • Hypocrisy

I just like to point out that most hunters put the carcass to use, by either eating it or sellings skins or whatever. I find it funny that the same people that oppose hunting go out to dinner and have nice juicy sirloin steak, or chicken breast or lobster, etc. So its ok to have these animals killed in a slaughter house for you to eat, but I can't kill my own meal? Its unfortunate that the mother bear was killed in this incident, but if you didn't notice these hunters specifically waited until the bear was 8 yards away, trying as much as they could to not kill it, they sounded pretty pissed off after they shot it because they know more than anyone else how important it is to keep the bear population at a good number. I think the main divide between people viewpoints on hunting as opposed to fishing in this country is the anti-gun attitude drilled down our throats by politicans and the media. Maybe if we shot at fish no one eould like fishing either.

HOW IMPRESSIVE? YOU CALL THAT SPORTING...CURLING HAS MORE DEGREES OF DIFFICULTY THAN THAT! I AM SURE THEY ARE GOING TO USE EVERY BIT OF THE REMAINS AS NATIVE SUBSISTENCE PEOPLE WOULD DO....ALSO WHAT ABOUT THE CUB? JUST LEFT TO DIE OR DID THEY SLAUGHTER THAT TOO? AKOLE PUKA!

  • Think First...Your life or the Bears...Don't judge

To all of you who have left a negative comment. I am a hunter, things like this may happen. But it’s your life or the bears. You all sound like a bunch of Peta members. Yes they shot the bears, and yes they ate the bears. It is a sad thing that happened. If you watch the whole video you can tell that the hunters were sad/mad about what just happened. You are making it sound like they went out there to kill the poor little Winnie the pooh. It makes me mad to see all of you judge something you have no idea about. Put yourself in there shoe before you judge. You all are narrow mind people with no life since. You need to crawl out of your little holes, this is the real world.

  • excuses are bull

all I hear hunters do is talk their way around their idiotic habits.they say they help species', they say they eat the meat, they say they choose humane methods, and on and on...blah blah blah. yawn yawn. we are bored with your obvious lack of any intelligence. It takes only an idiot to do what you all do because you all are too stupid to get a real hobby or interest. killing is killing, and you cannot compare it to simple fishing either, don't even try to compare. These animals are beautiful and you all are too stupid to allow your offspring to appreciate them. I cannot believe that you hunters are "parents" to begin with. do you supposedly teach your kids morals and values? just the ones that bother your conscience/ way to go guys. what a contribution to society you all are. you must be proud.
