  • Pathetic humans.

"I abhor vivisection with my whole soul. All the scientific discoveries stained with innocent blood I count as of no consequence." -Mahatma Gandhi "Vivisection is barbaric, useless, and a hindrance to scientific progress." - Werner Hartinger "What is the importance of human lives? Is it their continuing alive for so many years like animals in a menagerie? The value of a man cannot be judged by the number of diseases from which he escapes. The value of a man is in his human qualities: in his character, in his conscience, in the nobility and magnanimity, of his soul. Torturing animals to prolong human life has separated science from the most important thing that life has produced - the human conscience." -John Cowper Powys "Vivisection is a social evil because if it advances human knowledge, it does so at the expense of human character" - George Bernard Shaw

I've read about these kinds of experiments. This was before anti-rejection medicine, so the animals that were experimented on rejected the new organs/limbs/etc. If they did that now, I'm sure it could live much longer. I honestly don't think that this is extremely cruel. I think he honestly wanted to learn and see if if was possible that the monkey could live. It did, only for a short period of time. To do these kinds of experiments, we should wait until we found a way to reconnect the spinal cord.

  • The possibilities

Think about it. If this procedure actually is perfected, the same way they transplant the limbs or hands or fingers etc off a dead person to use for a living one in need of the body part; you could put the head of someone who is paralyzed onto a deseased person's body. It's really unethical in today's world but with all the crazy shit science does, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a normal procedure by year 3000...if we make it that far.
