The poster of the vid neglected to mention that she was riddled with inoperable tumours that were slowly killing her. Her name was Chantal Sebire, and she had been campaigning for the right to die before she was forced to do it herself. How rediculous is it that people are still forced to endure being stripped of their dignity, health and what should be a fundamental human freedom - the right to choose to die instead of suffering needless and unpreventable agony and pain. The fundamentalist Christian f*ckheads on the other side of the debate rarely see the kind of pain this woman went through... Justice would be them experiencing it first hand.

how hard could that be? she could have done it long ago without living in agony like she did. theres painless ways of suicide. in china they have official death buses that roll around and execute "guilty" people. are they more compassionate than french land?

Unfortunately, many suicides are botched and leave the person in an immeasurably worse condition; not to mention that they generally end up intstitutionalized and under 24-hour 'suicide watch'. I feel that it's my damned life, if I feel it's not worth living it anymore due to pain that I cannot control (I have many conditions of my own, fibromyalgia being the most annoying atm), I should have the right to end it in a way that I see fit. But we have placed such a stigma on the concept of suicide, probably largely thanks to the 'it's an unforgivable sin!' groups.... that we condemn people to endure lives that aren't worth living. My gf works in an animal shelter; if an animal came in that was so deformed and in such pain, they would euthanize it without question. We as humans don't get half the respect of that kind of treatment. We go out the way we came in; raving and pissing our pants, stripped of all dignity and respect.
I was going to feel sympathy for her...
