You are using a phillips bit on your skull.you need to change it to an 1/8 inch bit atleast an inch long.pherhaps you may also want to use a larger and more powerful cordless drill set on HIGH.

Get one of those 1" paddle bits with a point on the end also don't use a cordless it is not powerful enough use a wired drill.
