Like all members of the human species, europeans crave some degree of primal violence. Soccer is such a pus.sie game that europeans watch the game feeling unfulfilled. As a result, they seek violence within the stands or outside the stadium. Americans on the other hand, enjoy football and get their fill from true athletic competition. Disgrace
They disgraced Scottish football that night. To be fair, it now seems many of the troublemakers were infiltrators, probably English and trying to ruin the better reputation of Scottish fans. That said, big occasions like a final bring out thousands of hangers-on and even more glory hunters than usual and they all seemed to go down south ticketless and with an unjustified sense of self-importance. Football always attracted idiots but it's even worse these days. Many of them aren't even real football fans, just social attention-seekers.
