It endured who knows how much pain before he finally shot it the final time, and it may have even just died shortly after that shot. They weren't trying to be merciful, they were having fun.

Learn about weapons before opening your traps.

Look and listen you dumb asses. The first soldier is trying to put the dog down with an M-16. It fires a high velocity .223 round that is not intended to strike a small target. The bullet passes through before it can expand and do what it's meant to do. Listen for the second soldier saying 9 mil coming through. A 9mm round is a low velocity round that will expand, even at close range, and inflict the damage needed to put it down. You uneducated pussies would rather let an animal suffer than use the force necessary to put it out of it's misery.
