Doctors remove a live 2-foot-long eel out of a man's anus after he shoved it inside of himself along with a lime.
A 31-year-old Indian national in Vietnam was rushed to the hospital in excruciating pain after an eel started eating away at his intestines.
"The eel had bitten through the patient’s rectum and colon to escape into the abdominal cavity," said the hospital.
When the doctors tried removing the eel, they noticed that lime had also been shoved inside of him which was blocking the way.
Doctors were then forced to undergo an emergency surgery and cut him open. They successfully removed the lime and the 25-inch long, 4-inch diameter eel.
The man is expected to survive.
According to the hospital, this is a common occurrence in Vietnam.
