Carlton County, MN - A man wanted in connection with a homicide last week in Michigan, who was captured after a high-speed chase in Carlton County on Monday, will be extradited to Michigan. Two Michigan State Police detectives were scheduled to fly to Minnesota by the end of the week to pick up Gregory Allen Rose.Rose, 46, was wanted after a woman's body was found in a burned home in Midland County, Mich., last Friday. On Monday morning Rose led both Minnesota State Patrol troopers and Carlton County sheriff's deputies on a chase that reached speeds of up to 95 miles per hour. He was driving a U.S. government pickup truck at the time, which he allegedly stole over the weekend in Wisconsin. One deputy fired shots at the suspect's tires during the chase. Rose rammed several squads and ran at least one off the road. Two county squads were damaged enough to require tow trucks. Rose eventually was apprehended along County Road 4 near Mahtowa. Rose has been charged with assaulting a man in Michigan and stealing his truck, the Morning Sun reported. He has not yet been charged in the death of the 67-year-old woman whose body was found in the burned home; that case remains under investigation. Michigan Department of Corrections records show Rose served 28 years in a Michigan prison for armed robbery and criminal sexual assault in Muskegon County. He was paroled in June 2014. Carlton County prosecutors have decided to hold off on any charges from Monday's police chase so that Rose can be extradited to Michigan.
