In the late spring, the marine layer often rolls in over Los Angeles up to the feet of the San Gabriel Mountains. With this blanket over the vast city, much of the light pollution is removed from the night sky, allowing one to actually see the Milky Way. These time-lapse images were taken in the early parts of 2015 from Mt. Wilson.
