This video show why US Lockheed U-2 Spy plane need a powerful car traveling at 140-Mph (225 km/h) to help the U2 spy plane landing on the runway and why it can crash without this precious help. Because of the tender specifications which required a very light plane, the engineer have designed only 2 very primitive landing gear which makes the U2 really unstable during the take off and the landing. The Lockheed U-2, nicknamed "Dragon Lady", is a high altitude surveillance aircraft , it have only one powerful jet engine. This spy plane is used by the United States Air Force (USAF) and previously by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). It make monitoring missions during day or night and can reach an altitudes above 70,000 feet (21,000 m) . This plane also does research work and development of electronic sensors, calibration of satellites and satellite data validation. In the early 1950s, with the tensions of the Cold War rise, the US military needed to improve the strategic reconnaissance to determine the capabilities and intentions of the Soviet Union . Surveillance aircraft of that time were mainly bombers converted, but were vulnerable to flak and fighters. It was thought that a plane flew over 21,000 m (70,000 feet) not only be out of reach of missiles and Soviet fighters, but also away from the radar . This capability would allow overflight missions, intentionally violating the airspace of a country for photography a specific area.
