CCTV video captures plane crashing on LA street and hitting traffic. Small plane crashes during emergency landing in Pacoima. A small, fixed-wing plane struck several parked vehicles as it crashed Monday afternoon near Whiteman Airport in Pacoima. No one on the ground was injured, according to Margaret Stewart, spokeswoman of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The pilot was not injured and declined medical care. The Mooney M20 plane had just departed from Whiteman Airport, said Ian Gregor, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration. But for unknown reasons, the pilot tried to return to the airport. He was forced to land at about 1:40 p.m. on San Fernando Road.
