Earlier this week, the hacker collective Anonymous announced it was declaring "total war" on Donald Trump. And now, members of the group have allegedly launched their first "attack"—but it's pretty underwhelming.
The leak includes what they claim is Trump's Social Security number, cell phone, and contact information for his agent and lawyer. In a video announcing the leak, a computerized voice said that the information can help hackers in their individual attempts to harm Trump's campaign.
According to a Twitter account that also claims to represent Anonymous, the information may be outdated and should be taken "with a grain of salt." And it does seem that at least the cell phone number is outdated, since Gawker released the same one last year; the next day, Trump changed the number to lead to an automated campaign message. Even still, ABC News reports that federal authorities are investigating the leak.
