After Donald Trump threatened to “spill the beans” on Heidi Cruz, his campaign reps took to the airwaves and Twitter Friday to indicate that they had done that very thing.
“The beans,” in this case were nothing as salacious as the sex scandal Cruz accused Trump of planting in a national tabloid.
According to Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson, Sen. Cruz’s wife’s past association with the Bush administration, NAFTA, Council on Foreign Relations, and Goldman Sachs indicated that “Her entire career has been spent working against everything Ted Cruz says that he stands for.”
Pierson made those remarks on CNN Friday morning, and they were reported on in The Hill under the headline, “Trump aide fulfills threat to ‘spill the beans’ on Heidi Cruz”.
Trump’s campaign chairman Corey Lewandowski tweeted out the article without comment or objection, which would seem to confirm that the “beans” — effectively Heidi Cruz’s resume — had indeed been “spilled.”
