A German railway company Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn (MRB) has recently introduced female-only carriages between Chemnitz and Leipzig. Footage filmed at the Belgershain train station on Friday shows a six-seater compartment located in the central carriage next to the quiet zones and the train conductor.
The scheme has been implemented in order "to help female passengers feel safer while traveling by rail," said an MRB spokesperson.
