Two paramedics could go to jail after an elderly patient died when he fell from a hospital trolley in Russia. Shocking CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral across the country and the ambulancemen are in deep trouble for it. The video shows the paramedics pushing a gurney into an emergency room where the 65-year-old man is due to be assessed by a nurse and doctors.But the patient slips off the side of the trolley, hitting his head on the floor and sustaining fatal injuries. It has since emerged that safety straps which should have kept him on the trolley had not been secured by the paramedics. His wife, who had come into the hospital with him, can be seen holding her head in despair. The incident happened six months ago in the city of Ussuriysk near Vladivostok in Russia's Far East. But the video only emerged this week as police stepped up their investigation.A Russian police spokesman said: 'Paramedics were transporting the patient without securing a safety belt on the gurney. As the result the old man fell and died from his injuries.'
