3 Story House in China undergoing renovations suddenly collapses

Surveillance cameras on a Shanghai street captured the shocking moment a three-storey house suddenly collapsed in the downtown district of Songjiang on April 11. The dust that followed the collapse immediately covered cars parked along the road and passing pedestrians. Two people have been rescued, who were identified as mother and child. Rescue equipment has indicated that there are still signs of life under the rubble. The accident was reportedly caused by the collapse of a load bearing wall, as the house was undergoing renovation works at the time. The owner of the house, a person who had been renting the property and the builders working on renovations have all been taken in by local police for questioning.
