Three southern Indiana teenagers could be facing felony charges after a destructive joyride on Friday night. Police said the charges could include criminal mischief, and trespassing among others.
It was two machines, three teens, and almost $50,000 worth of damage.
"It’s just amazing that nobody was hurt, I mean, you know, operating two pieces of heavy machinery like that, in the middle of the night, no lights, and they were competing with each other to see how much destruction they could cause,” Paul Tinnell said. Tinnell’s family owns the property.
That destruction, which is visible on all sides of the lot includes one trailer tipped on its side, and another now ruined with a gaping hole. Tinnell, whose home backs up to the vandalized lot, said it was after midnight on Friday when he was awaken by the sound of the machines ripping through his family business.
"The bulldozer was being used to push over two tractor trailers and the track-hoe was being used to rip the tops off of them and rip the side off of a modular home,” Tinnell said.
