SUNRISE, FLA. (WSVN) - Police arrested seven students after responding to reports of unruly students at a high school in Sunrise, Tuesday.
Hundreds of Piper High School students were reported as being unruly, causing the school to go under a code yellow.
According to students, at around 1 p.m., many of their classmates spontaneously left their classrooms as an end-of-the-year prank. “We had this thing going on Instagram for everybody to go crazy,” said student Sandina Frais. “It’s the end of the school year, so everybody has to go crazy.”
Another student was outraged by how some of her classmates acted. “Throwing water, throwing food, throwing all the trash on the floor,” exclaimed Sandy Samson. “That’s very rude and disgusting! We know better than that … Everybody was recording and posting on social media. How do you think this school is going to be looking when you do all this stuff?”
Police were seen corralling students and instructing them to go back into their classrooms.
