More than 2,000 pounds of cocaine was seized this week in a two-day operation conducted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard. Coast Guard officials said the drugs were found on a Bolivian freighter that had traveled to South Florida from Haiti. The ship, which was carrying empty containers, docked at 3300 N. North River Drive, where authorities discovered a white powdery substance as they were drilling. They later discovered that the powder was 800 bricks of cocaine.
