Police have released a chilling surveillance video of the alleged abduction of a newborn baby boy from the King of Prussia Mall in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, on March 31.
In the six-minute clip, the accused kidnapper, Cherie Amoore, appeared to befriend local mom Malika Hunter, who was shopping with her 7-week-old baby, Ahsir Simmons, and 2-year-old, Ahmad. The two women then ventured over to the food court, where they sat at a table chatting. When Hunter looked away to attend to her older child, Amoore allegedly abducted her baby boy.
Thankfully, Ahsir was found safe hours later after Amoore’s family notified the police.
According to documents obtained by 6ABC, alleged kidnapper Amoore explained to detectives that about a month before the incident, her newborn son had died.
6ABC reported that Amoore allegedly told authorities: “I don’t know why I did it. I can’t explain it. I held him, and all those feelings rushed back. I just wanted my baby. I felt like I was holding my son again. It felt so good. I didn’t want to lose that feeling. I was crazy. I never intended to do anything like this.”
