A surveillance video emerged online recently showing a baby falling off the stairs of an escalator after her mother lost hold of her stroller, which was not designed to go on an escalator. Luckily, a man close by pressed the emergency stop button in time. The condition of the baby was not revealed. The careless mother has been criticized by thousands of Chinese netizens. Experts on child safety warned that mothers should not take the escalator while pushing a stroller and suggested that they should hold their baby in their hands or take an elevator.
