Russian police say that a young woman has filed a formal complaint against a Pokémon Go character - claiming it committed rape against her.
The woman told officers that she woke up to discover she was being sexually assaulted by a ‘giant’ Pokémon in her apartment in Moscow.
The married woman, whose name has not been released, was reportedly playing Pokémon Go before she fell asleep.
She claims that when she woke up, she was horrified to discover a ‘giant’ Pokémon character lying on top of her, supposedly sexually assaulting her.
The woman says that the character disappeared when she jumped out of bed - but claims the ‘assailant’ can still be detected by the app in her bedroom.
Although the young woman immediately filed a police report, police told her they would not be perusing the case further, and encouraged her to seek a psychiatrist’s help.
