At least two people died Friday when their small plane crashed near a suburban Washington airport, authorities said. The plane was attempting to land at Shannon Airport about 50 miles southwest of the District of Columbia when it came to the end of the runway and pulled back up, said spokeswoman Corinne Geller of Virginia State Police. The plane struck a tree line at around 12:30 p.m. ET, crashed and immediately burst into flames.
