China's state media released surveillance video of a sinkhole opening up and swallowing two people on Tuesday (August 23) in northwestern Lanzhou city.
State broadcaster CCTV said the incident took place at 2:56 p.m. (0656 GMT) on a pedestrian street, with two nearby people falling into water in the sinkhole.
The injured were sent to hospital, it said, adding that investigation was still underway.
