The rapper named King Yella, real name Cemone Lewis, was shot in Chicago during the filming of a rap video for the Black Lives Matter movement.
Lewis, said in videos posted to social media that he was shooting a "Black Lives Matter video" when a hail of bullets left him with a gunshot wound in his arm and a graze wound in his side.
Lewis appears to be the man Chicago Police said was shot at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 6500 block of South Wentworth Avenue. Police said the shooting, carried out from a passing car, appeared to be gang-related.
After the shooting, a Twitter account representing the Black Disciples gang posted a video of the shooting and claimed responsibility.
