MIDTOWN, Manhattan — Police released surveillance footage of man wanted for allegedly attacking a subway rider with a box cutter, slashing him on the face, chest and hands on a train at Bryant Park station Thursday morning.
The victim was slashed with a box cutter in his face, chest and hands on the D train at 10:18 a.m. at the station, located at West 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue, police said.
Surveillance footage showed the alleged attacker, seen wearing a dark colored long sleeved shirt and dark colored pants, fleeing the subway station. He is described as being between 30 to 40 years old, 6-feet to 6-feet 6-inches tall and about 230 to 240 pounds.
The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition , the NYPD said.
Blood was seen spattered along the platform, up the stairs and another 15 on the station's upper level.
