This dash cam footage, taken in Mannheim, shows a migrant faking a car accident in the hopes of scamming a German driver and his passenger. The scheme, in which a person throws himself in front of a car, intends to either extract money through insurance fraud or directly from the driver who wants to avoid police involvement by paying the fraudster. Variation of the scam even include robbery when the occupant unlocks his door to help the supposed victim.
After realizing the absence of reaction, the migrant begins to talk in broken English and frantically knock on the windshield. As soon as he notices the dash cam and the driver threatens to call the police, he flees the scene.
